My basic super healthy green smoothie recipe
Have you heard of green smoothies? If so, have you tried adding them to your diet?
Yes? Awesome! You’ll understand the benefits and hopefully you know that they can taste good.
No? Uh oh! You’ve probably got visions of something really disgusting, right?
Well I’ve got good news for those who haven’t tried them or that think they have to taste bad. 🙂
Green smoothies are not only a super healthy addition to your diet, but they can taste really good too (honest…).
In this post I just want to share what I consider to be the basic green smoothie recipe (to get started - more to come!) and I found this video from Vitamix which comes pretty close to that basic recipe. So, my basic recipe for a green smoothie goes something like this…
Ingredients
1-2 cups of leafy greens Eg. spinach, kale or lettuce…
1 green apple or a ripe banana or both
1/4 of a lemon (flesh only - not skin)
1 to 1.5 cups of water
The how to
Place all the ingredients in a blender (if you’re looking for a good quality blender, you might want to read my review of the Vitamix), add ice if you want it really cold and blend until smooth.
That’s it. Simple!
Eat (and drink) clean 🙂
