Well I’ve got good news for those who haven’t tried them or that think they have to taste bad. 🙂

Green smoothies are not only a super healthy addition to your diet, but they can taste really good too (honest…).

In this post I just want to share what I consider to be the basic green smoothie recipe (to get started – more to come!) and I found this video from Vitamix which comes pretty close to that basic recipe. So, my basic recipe for a green smoothie goes something like this…

Ingredients

1-2 cups of leafy greens Eg. spinach, kale or lettuce…

1 green apple or a ripe banana or both

1/4 of a lemon (flesh only – not skin)

1 to 1.5 cups of water

The how to

Place all the ingredients in a blender (if you’re looking for a good quality blender, you might want to read my review of the Vitamix), add ice if you want it really cold and blend until smooth.

That’s it. Simple!

Eat (and drink) clean 🙂

P.S. There are loads of super healthy ingredients that can be added to this basic green smoothie recipe to enhance the taste, add more nutrition and increase the benefits. Smoothie recipes are really only limited by your imagination, so watch out for future posts. But in the mean time, why not grab a FREE copy of my favourite Smoothie recipes?
