Have you ever wondered why is it so difficult to stay on a diet and lose some weight? There are many reasons why diets don’t work, and even more reasons to quit them.

If you don’t remember the number of diets that you’ve tried, it’s time to stop and start to practice the old and proven way to reduce body weight – with workouts in the gym and small changes in your diet.

1 – Many diets don’t actually work

The problem with diets is that many are way too specific and not adaptable to our daily lives. They tell you what to eat and when, but don’t take into account the individual responsibilities, way of life and things that can be provided (necessary for a diet).

Remember that reducing the weight and getting into a fit form is something that takes a long time – i.e. it is a way of life.

2 – Many diets are ridiculous

Temporary diets, such as the diet with cabbage, or Hollywood diets, use methods of starvation which is a totally wrong and an unhealthy way to lose weight.

Diets that forbid one or more types of foods should be last on the list of diets that you should try, because you if you lack the needed nutrients, weight loss will only be temporary.

Why waste your time?

3 – Some diets are totally unhealthy

Not all diets are unhealthy, but there are plenty of them prohibiting a whole bunch of foods in order to reduce weight.
Scientists often make confusions about whether these diets are healthy or not, but you don’t have to be very smart to realize that you need protein, carbohydrates and fats in a diet to lose weight healthily.

Diets that are low in fats or calories are not healthy, and if your diet is too restrictive, don’t follow it.

4 – Diets are not always tailored to your lifestyle

Many of us are too busy and have no time to buy specific foods and count calories as diets require. If the diet requires a lot of things which you can’t follow, how much time do you think you’ll use that diet?

You can lose weight without counting calories. Choose foods that contain fewer calories, and include exercising in the gym or cardio.

5 – Diets make you feel unsuccessful

A problem with many diets is that they are so complex and restrictive, you’re almost guaranteed to fail. You should realize that sudden changes in your habits will not change much, it requires a longer period of time. Make gradual small changes and give yourself time to start losing weight.

Give yourself time to change bad habits.

6 – Diets empty your wallet

A diet to reduce weight is big business. Remember, people who sell books on weight loss aim to take your money and have a big house in Beverly Hills.

Do you think anyone is concerned about your happiness and health, except you?

Probably not.

Be skeptical about diet books and and diets you encounter.

7 – Diets are temporary

A healthy lifestyle and fitness are not an option for combination with any extreme diet. Even if you follow a strict diet, you will soon quit when you start craving your favorite foods. This means that you will lose weight, but will immediately regain it when you stop the diet.

Why waste your time this way?

8 – Diets consume your energy

The reason for a quick loss of body weight during a diet is because of the high calorie restriction. You may think this is good, but too little intake of calories leads to fatigue, lack of energy, even slowing down the process of reducing body weight.

Your body needs energy to reduce body weight, and if doesn’t get enough your body will store it as fat.

Eat several smaller meals throughout the day to be energized.

9 – Diets give bad reputation to food

Diets often prohibit the types of foods that are your favorite. When something is forbidden, you want it even more.

Remember, there is no bad or good food and you can eat what you want but moderately and occasionally.

10 – Diets are not the right choice for everyone

For some individuals, diets are a great choice if adapted to their purpose, budget and lifestyle. However, these diets are not for everyone.

If you have a problem to maintain a diet, that does not mean that the problem is with you or you are “doomed” to fail.

Find other ways to spend calories.

Focus on one thing at a time, and then move on to another, and slowly but surely you will get used to a new and healthy lifestyle.
